Six Flags Great America

Today Freddy and I went to Six Flags Great America.  I have not been there in years. We got discounted tickets because it was Kohl's Friends and Family day.  Since, Freddy works at Kohl's we were able to go.

We had the best time.  The first ride we went on was the Whizzer.  It was a great beginner roller coaster for someone who has not been there in a long time.  We went on every roller coaster in the park.  They were all really fun.  My favorite roller coaster was the Raging Bull.  My least favorite was The American Eagle.  It really shook my head a lot I thought I was going to have whiplash.

The new ride, Goliath was awesome.  It looked really scary at first because of the 165' drop.  But the ride is about 30 seconds long and you are going about 85 mph.  It is really intense and amazing.  If you are going to Six Flags, it is totally worth going.  The line was the longest but worth every second.

Freddy and I also was suckered into buying some of the pictures taken on the rides.  We bought the one from Superman Ultimate Flight.  Freddy and I both had one hand out like superman so we had to buy it. Also we bought the one from Raging Bull.  We knew exactly when the camera was coming so we posed for the picture.  It turned out awesome so we will be putting it in out Christmas cards.  When we were done riding all the rides we went on the Sky Trek Tower to end our day at Six Flags.  We got a bunch of really nice picture of the park.

We could even see downtown Chicago from the top (circled in red).  We tried doing a panorama but they were not turning out.  After we were done with Six Flags we went to Gurnee Mills.  We even went to the Rainforest Cafe to get a bite to eat.  Everything was a little expensive so we just got an appetizer.

Hobbies

I have many hobbies.  The main hobby I have is crafting.  I love crafting and sharing all my creations with people.  I believe it runs in my family. 

My grandmother on my mother’s side loves to sew.  She made my sister and my window curtains once.  She also made my sisters’ Halloween costume one year.   She even hemmed my prom dress so it would fit me perfectly.  My grandmother on my father’s side also loved to sew.  She made many doll clothes for my sister and me.  My grandfather on my father’s side was even crafty.  He would carve animals and other things out of wood.  

My mother is also pretty crafty.  She was my Girl Scout leader when I was little and was really good at coming up with fun crafty ideas.  My mother would also take my sister and I to Michael's on Saturday mornings to do a craft.  My father also can be crafty at times.  He is crafty with wood.  He has made many different projects and even changed my parent’s basement into his own workshop.  My dad would also take my sister and I to Home Depot some Saturday mornings for crafting when we were little.  We would build things like bird houses and other small little wood projects.  That was fun to do. We even got orange smocks like the employees wear.

Now you know with all this craftiness in my blood I would also be crafty.  You are correct.  I love crafting.  Anything from those fun little kid crafts to hard wood working crafts.  I do more crafting with paper than anything.  Now I am not talking about Origami because I am not really good at that.  I am talking about scrapbooking and card making.  It all started with my mother.

The summer of 2006, my mother took my sister, my sister’s friend and I to Michael's and bought us all a mini scrapbook, 2 packs of stickers and 2 pens each.  She also bought us one pack of paper for all of us to share.  I loved cutting all our pictures and putting them on the piece of paper.  Soon I started running out of the supplies and started losing interest.  When I got to high school I got my first part time job and was able to purchase my own supplies. It really started getting fun again.  I started spending a lot of my paychecks on stickers, paper and other scrapbooking supplies.

Now I have about 5 different scrapbooks.  Since I have no pictures left to do more pages I am at a standstill.  I have to wait until something happens for me to do more pages.  I really wanted to continue paper crafting but I did not know what else to do.  I went to an All Day Krop at The Scrapbook Store (now known as The Scrapbook Store and More) and some other crafters where making cards.  I never got into card making only scrapbooking.  They made so many cards and they were really cute.  When I got home I started searching card making videos.  There are so many out there but one by Stephanie Barnard really stood out.  She was making a card with a jar of candy in it.  It was super cute and it did not seem really hard to make.  

I then decided to make cards.  I joined The Stamps of Life stamp club and started making cards.  I have been making cards for about 1 year now and I am starting to get really good at it.  I love learning new techniques and different ways to make cards.  I am always ready to learn more.

Proposal

Freddy and I are engaged!

Freddy finally asked me to marry him.  It only took him six years.  We are super excited to be married to each other. Everyone thinks we are married already so it is just making it real.  Freddy did it in the cutest way too.

Freddy and I hung out all day because he was off.  We did a lot of fun stuff but close to the end of the day we wanted to go to Holy Hill to watch the sunset.  We tried watching the sunrise a couple days ago but we missed it.  So we decided to see the sunset instead.  We climbed all the way to the top of the tower to see the view.

The view from the top was priceless.  The sun was not setting but it was still really beautiful.  We took a lot of pictures from every angle.  I loved getting the church in the picture.  It is a really pretty church so I could not help it.

After we were up there for a while we went down. We decided to go to Pewaukee Lake instead to see the sunset.  But first I really wanted to see the garden.  I wanted to see all the stages of Jesus.  But we were looking at them backward but that is okay.  When we got to the first one, Freddy said that he wanted a picture of me next to Jesus and then after I would take one of him.  I walked over close to Jesus for the picture and when I turned around he was on his knee. I did not see it coming.  I started to cry of joy and I was so happy that I was not even paying attention to him talking.  Soon he asked if I would marry him and of course I said yes.

The ring is amazing and so different then I thought.  I always wanted a halo diamond but this is so much better.  I knew he would pick the best ring ever.  I can not stop wearing it.  It really sparkles from every direction.  We still went to Pewaukee Lake to see the sunset.  After dinner, we went to our families house to share the news and to celebrate.  I could never ask for a better husband-to-be.  He stole my heart and I can not wait to steal his last name.

Introduction

My name is Kasey and I am starting a blog to add to the millions of blogs out there.  My blog will not draw the interest of everyone but that is okay.  I am just a normal person who wants to tell the world about my life and what makes me...me.

This blog is going to be full of fun tips, tricks and ideas of crafting, fashion, fitness, yummy recipes, life stories and more.  Now let me give you a heads up that I am not a professional.  I have not worked in the field or anything.  My tips and tricks are just what I do and it works for me.

I get my inspiration from many different places.  I love watching YouTube videos and reading blogs.  A couple of my favorite blogs are CheckInTheMirror, DarleneDesign.com and Simply Taralynn.  I am also always looking for more.  I also get a lot of my inspiration from Pinterest.  Now I am like everyone who has been on Pinterest, I have a pinning addition.  You can find anything on there.  I will sometimes just spend hours just looking at all the pictures and might not even post anything.
